HAPPY HEART WEEK 2020
SUNDAY MAY 3- SATURDAY MAY 9
A message from John and Megan Branagh...
Happy Heart Week is an annual virtual awareness and fundraising event honoring our son, Henry, and centered around his birthday, May 2nd. Barth syndrome is a rare, life-threatening, multi-system mitochondrial disease that currently has no treatment or cure. The purpose of Happy Heart Week is to raise awareness of Barth syndrome and to raise critical funds that are crucial to ending the suffering caused by this dreadful disease. Our hope is for Henry to have a long and vibrant life, and your gifts this week help make our hope a reality!
In light of the state that our world is in due to the coronavirus, the goal of surpassing the amount raised by HHW last year ($90K) seems lofty. However, we'd like to raise as much as possible! Any amount helps and truly makes a difference in the well-being of Henry and our family.
Your support means so much to us and to our Barth syndrome family around the world. Thank you! All gifts go directly to the Barth Syndrome Foundation.

"Happy Heart Week received it's name from a proverb that a dear friend sent us when Henry was first in the hospital in 2012 with very severe dilated cardiomyopathy:
'A happy heart makes the face cheerful...' Proverbs 15:13
What this meant to us as parents is that even though Henry's heart has been "sick", it has still been happy. And that has always shown on his face, through all that he has been through. His health and circumstance does not determine his joy! His joy comes from the Lord, and that is what we strive to implement in our own lives daily. May this little boy inspire you to look past your circumstances for joy, and to endure even when it's hard."
